SUMMARY

Our client is hiring a Head of Finance to join the team.

A suitable candidate should be a motivated and multi-skilled individual that meets the requirements of the role.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE

  • Strategic analysis of our expenditure to highlight areas to be more efficient and innovative in our restricted and unrestricted finances.
  • Creative and strategic input into our income generation and financial opportunities with the ability to recognise areas of potential growth.
  • Development of our 3-year business plan.
  • Selection, implementation and management of appropriate software systems.
  • Development of departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify variances and any forthcoming financial challenges.
  • Preparation of the statutory annual accounts, supporting schedules for the auditors and ensuring annual returns are done on time.
  • Responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Overseeing and owning responsibility for the weekly and month-end reporting process. All internal and statutory reporting is presented under local GAAP.
  • Ensuring the business is legal and tax compliant (includes VAT/ Payroll tax/Corporation tax) in all jurisdictions and timely submission of Intrastat declarations.
  • Managing the treasury and working capital position.
  • Overseeing payroll processing & more transactional duties as you grow the finance team.
  • Steering best practices across the company on processes and controls.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • ACA qualification is preferred however CIMA and ACCA will be considered.
  • Ability to digest, understand and analyse information independently.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in financial planning and modelling with the ability to present. complex information effectively to non-finance audiences
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully across different teams and contribute effectively as a member of the senior management team.
  • The ability to advise on strategic finance matters as well as being hands-on when managing the day-to-day finance operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of risk management techniques.
  • Commitment to our vision and values.
  • Considerable post-qualified experience gained in the industry in a role incorporating accounting, financial control and commercial finance/business partnering.
  • Experience must include: financial and management accounting including leading month-end close, evidence of responding to and working with external auditors, providing analysis, profit and loss and cash flow, forecasting and planning, and supporting and challenging businesses to make optimal operational and performance decisions.
  • Experience in successfully leading and developing a team.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in administering cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero or quick books.
  • Experience in delivering the full range of financial and accounting services required by the business.
  • Experience of working within a similar role will be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Finance is desirable.
